Whytecliff Park in the early evening

Where else to spend a great relaxing evening than in Whytecliff Park?!

We also always get to see some animals as an added bonus.
This time there were harbour seals, harbour porpoises, a bald eagle, a blue heron, and various smaller birds. I even saw a little snake.

Of course, great clouds, a beautiful sunset, and the moon make everything even better!

Various animals at Whytecliff Park

We spent some very relaxing hours at Whytecliff Park today – and we saw so many animals!

There was this little jewel beetle that landed on Marcus’s pants.
Then we saw all the busy bees and bumblebees, watched cormorants, crows, spotted towhees, white-crowned sparrows, crows, a blue heron, bald eagles, harbour seals…
We never had a dull moment.

Nature also showed us some gorgeous clouds, strong waves, and a beautiful sunset.

Mini stop at Whytecliff Park

On this grey day we enjoyed some quiet day at Whytecliff Park before heavy rain set in and made us leave earlier than wanted.

However, seeing a juvenile bald eagle, some harbour seals and harbour porpoises made our day!

Birds, seals and porpoises

We spent another beautiful late afternoon/evening at Whytecliff Park today where we saw a male surf scoter which is a large sea duck swimming right in front of us.

The usual harbour seals were there as well as a bald eagle sitting at his favourite spot.
And we spotted some harbour porpoises, too, before the amazing sunset sent us home again.

Never a dull moment at Whytecliff Park

Indeed, whenever we spent some time at this beautiful park in West Vancouver, we are rewarded with so many experiences nature has to offer.

So today we saw a blue heron (no picture of it though), a bald eagle, the usual crows, seagulls, ‘our’ little white-crowned sparrow in addition to harbour seals, sea lions, and so many harbour porpoises which was more than amazing.

A pair of Canada geese swam by with their little goslings – maybe the same two we saw a few days ago, but this time showing off their offspring.

What a special day!

Whytecliff Park clouds and birds

After our little museum excursion, we went to Whytecliff Park – although rain was predicted.
It is always so nice and peaceful out there so that we just wanted to give it a try. And the clouds are always so special.

We were lucky indeed – at least for some time – before the rain came.
Until then we had some company from a crow and a bald eagle.

Whytecliff Park animals

We always have a good time at Whytecliff Park – no matter what the weather is like or what animals we see.

Today we were lucky to see the usual seagulls and crows but also bald eagles, harbour seals, sea lions, and harbour porpoise. A really great day which ended with an amazing sunset over Bowen Island.

Short stop at Whytecliff Park

On our way back driving along the Sea to Sky Highway, we just had to stop at Whytecliff Park to relax a little, maybe see some wildlife and definitely enjoy a gorgeous sunset. And that is all we did!

What an amazing way to end this beautiful day!

Wildlife at Whytecliff Park

We had another lovely afternoon and evening at Whytecliff Park where we are always amazed at how much wildlife there is to see – small and large birds from hummingbirds, sparrows, herons to bald eagles, as well as small and larger marine animals from harbour seals, harbour porpoises to sea lions.

Eagles, sea lions, porpoises

Today we saw a great variety of animals at Whytecliff Park: bald eagles, sea lions, harbour seals, and harbour porpoises. It never gets boring out there!
